ATTENTION 2027 SENIORS

In order for the Slinger High School yearbook staff to print the color senior picture in the yearbook, seniors must meet the requirements listed below.
*  Senior portraits should be taken no later than September 1 in order for professional photographers to complete and submit to the yearbook on time.

*  The deadline for any photographer to turn them in is OCTOBER 30.

*  The photographer of choice must provide one color glossy head-and-shoulders digital photo, vertical layout and the student must be looking at the camera.

*  Digital images must have a resolution of at least 300dpi. This jpg image should be emailed to sara.hansen@slingerschools.org. Please save the image with the student's last name and first name (i.e. Smith, Joe).

*  Clothing in the portrait must be appropriate: 

* No uniforms or unusual attire. 

* No pets, vehicles, or props.

* No hats. 

* Must follow school dress code (no bare shoulders, spaghetti straps, too revealing cleavage, etc.). This is to ensure a classy, respected yearbook. Students may take other shots for their own use, but the yearbook photo should be classy and not provocative.

*  A “soft-focus” picture may appear slightly blurry in the yearbook. This is not recommended.

*  If a senior does not submit a photo on or before OCTOBER 30th, the yearbook staff will use his/her school photo ID picture.

SHS Yearbook

All Slinger High School students, regardless of grade, are encouraged to participate in helping to create the school's yearbook.  In fact, the more variety of students there are working on it, the more the diverse the book will be.

Editors are selected after an application process each spring.  Previous experience on the yearbook is helpful to gain an editorial position, but leadership and dedication are the two most important qualities in the selection process.  Editors are responsible for selling ads in the summer, completing computer training, assigning pages to staff, helping to complete pages, typing pages into the computer, and editing pages for content quality.

Yearbook meetings take place every Wednesday in Room 135 from 2:45 - 3:30 PM. Editors are required to attend these weekly meetings as well as work on assigned pages during study halls or other free periods. When deadlines are met, editors are rewarded with a party!
