Slinger Ski team is an Alpine ski racing team that races both Slalom and Giant Slalom events. There are both Varsity and JV teams for girls and boys. You can earn a letter as part of the Varsity Team.
No ski racing experience is required to join the ski team. Those interested in racing must be able to ski safely from the top of a ski hill to the bottom on their own.
The team starts dryland practice mid October - November. Ski practices are held at Little Switzerland as soon as the hill opens in December until Mid February.
The team is part of the Midwest High School Ski Conference and competes in 6 conference races each season during the months of January and February. Through the conference races skiers can qualify for State as a team or individually. The State Ski Race is held over presidents weekend in February at Mt. Lacrosse.
